Professional Development Links: WOOP, MOOCs, and Gum

This month we’ve scoured the web and come across some pretty incredible professional development tools and resources for ya. Let us know if you try one on Twitter or Facebook!

The WOOP App

Based on Mental Contrasting with Implementation Intentions (MCII), “WOOP is a scientific strategy that people can use to find and fulfill their wishes and change their habits.” This app, which spelled out is called Wish Outcome Obstacle Plan, helps you to look at your dreams and make them reality–right from your phone!

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)

Online courses have made it logistically possible and much more cost effective for organizations to provide specific types of training and continuing education for employees and leaders.

Chew Gum for Better Test Results

Sounds silly, but one study shows that chewing gum right before taking a test will improve your recall for at least 20 minutes…then it drops off and you go back to normal. Either way, bring your Wrigley’s to your next exam. It can’t hurt. Read all about the gum-chewing study on the Live Science website.

So Much Reading So Little Time
