Focus
:As a counseling psychologist, I feel passionate about helping people using empirically supported practices with a strengths-based approach that seeks to identify someone’s natural inclinations and exploring how those can be utilized to help you achieve your goals.
Experience
:In addition to working with clients through their experience with the HAB, I provide psychological services to children, teenagers, and young adults, such as mental health therapy and psychological evaluations. With the extra expertise and training in this area, I may be a good fit for high school children interested in taking the HAB as they prepare and plan for college, or college students who may be taking the HAB to guide decisions such as what to major in or making the transition into the workforce. Additionally, as a licensed psychologist, I provide therapy to children and young adults for concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, ASD, etc., so if you experience any of these symptoms related to your academic and occupational pursuits, I can help conceptualize that additional layer of context or continue to work with you in a therapy context to further explore or manage those aspects.
Education and Certifications
:I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology. Vocational interests are one of the factors that set Counseling Psychology apart from other related clinical fields of psychology. Therefore, my experience related to career concerns started early in my training, receiving instruction in career development theories throughout the lifespan as well as research regarding career assessment batteries. My clinical training and practice also emphasizes holistic approaches in which various contextual factors are taken into consideration in conceptualizations.
