Focus
:As a former teacher and school counselor, I have always enjoyed working with students on their educational journey, navigating life’s transitions, and planning for their future. The process of planning and applying for college is both exciting and overwhelming. The Highlands Ability Battery can give your student the opportunity…
• to be proactive vs reactive
• to create self-awareness
• to pinpoint their learning style and improve their study skills
• to capitalize on their natural strengths to begin to make informed decisions about college, majors, and careers
• to “Do What You Do Best”
The HAB is also insightful with college students who are selecting or changing their major along with exploring internship opportunities. College graduates can utilize the HAB to evaluate graduate education options and first steps in their careers as well as to assist adults in their career transitions.
Experience
:I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a background as a school counselor and teacher. My focus in both public education and nonprofit mental health organizations has been supporting the social and emotional needs of children, teens, and their parents in our community. My professional roles have combined my passion for working with youth with my strengths in counseling, education, development, public speaking, consulting, and collaboration. I am excited to work with students and adults as they gain insight into their natural abilities and apply this valuable information to facilitate meaningful and successful educational and professional pathways.
