The Highlands Ability Battery (HAB) provides clarity in this process by objectively measuring natural abilities—traits that remain consistent throughout life. Since each person is uniquely wired, the HAB serves as a reliable anchor, helping individuals recognize their innate strengths. By layering in interests, skills, and personal aspirations, and gathering feedback from trusted sources, a meaningful and fulfilling career path begins to take shape. This holistic approach is both insightful and empowering.

Experience

I founded Embark after experiencing firsthand the challenges of pursuing a career that didn’t truly fit. Despite working hard and achieving outward “success,” I often felt conflicted internally—and now I understand why.

My natural abilities weren’t suited for aggressive sales or heavy management roles, yet those were the positions I found myself in. I naturally gravitated toward the quieter, theoretical, research-oriented job tasks, but I ignored these tendencies, forcing myself into roles that felt like swimming upstream.

Now, through Embark, I help young people navigating college and career decisions, as well as adults in transition or feeling “stuck.” My goal is to simplify the complexities of career alignment, helping others avoid the aimless wandering I once experienced.

When you discover the right fit, work becomes less of a struggle and more of a flow—like swimming downstream.
