Focus
:Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” – Albert Einstein
Square pegs don’t fit in round holes. Yet many people try to mold their careers around external factors and “should’s,” landing them in mismatched roles. As a result, they wind up feeling stuck, confused, frustrated or discouraged.
There’s a better way to approach career—and life—decisions. One that will lead to greater performance, satisfaction and fulfillment.
It starts with an increased level of self-awareness. When your career aligns with your natural abilities, skills, interests, personal style, values and goals, something magical happens. It feels like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be, doing exactly what you’re meant to be doing.
As a Highlands Certified Consultant, I enjoy empowering people to consider their career options with greater confidence. I partner with growth-minded clients of all ages and career stages, specializing in working with young adults in their 20s and early 30s as they explore, launch and refine their first career.
Experience
:By degree—and at heart—I’m a teacher. I’m also a writer, editor, marketer and coach, roles I’ve been fortunate to combine as I paved my career path.
I’ve been the founding and managing editor for a finance website, the marketing director for an executive and career coaching company and an independent marketing consultant. And, in perhaps the most significant turning point in my career, I became a Highlands Certified Consultant in 2019 and, more recently, marketing director for the Highlands Company.
The theme that weaves together my passion for both marketing and coaching is a strong belief that whether you’re exploring careers or promoting your business, finding your voice—and using it—is the key that unlocks the door to your future. It’s your differentiator. It’s your guide.
As my own career unfolded, helping people “figure it out” didn’t take place in a classroom. But empowering others to make educated, informed decisions has been and remains the overarching mission of my full-circle career.
