Kim Turner, M.Ed., LPC, NCC
Focus
:In my counseling practice, I see adolescents and adults for a variety of issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, stress, transitions/major life decisions, and career concerns.
I provide individual counseling using solution-focused and cognitive therapies. I also employ a whole person process approach to career counseling so that all factors are considered when making vocational decisions. I believe in the Highlands process as I took this assessment post-college during a period of career indecision and found this process to be life changing.
Experience
:I have over 20 years of experience in education and counseling, having worked in higher education positions at the University of Virginia and the University of Georgia and as a public school counselor. I am currently working in the private practice I founded six years ago, helping adolescents and adults finding college majors and careers that fit. In addition, I am the co-founder of Strong Girls, an organization designed to inspire girls through creative activities, community service and yoga and its nonprofit arm, Strong Girls Serve.
