She has experience working with both traditional age students (18-24 years old) and older adult students. She enjoys coming alongside students, listening carefully and asking questions that guide them in thinking about the intersections of their natural abilities/gifts, life experiences, fields of study, experiences, opportunities, and hopes and dreams for the future. She is certified in both the Highland Abilities Battery (HAB) and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and has used the Strong Interest Inventory and other assessment instruments throughout her career in higher education.

Kim Ernsting has over 35 years of experience working with college students in the fields of career development, academic advising, interdisciplinary major design, and student success. She has a Master’s degree in College Student Development from Miami University (OH) and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wheaton College (IL).
