Recently, the Highlands Company has expanded its training of Affiliates to include group feedback and workshops. In similar or homogeneous groups with common interests and objectives – college-bound students, individuals with a common profession (e.g., lawyers), the staff of a corporate department, corporate managers, etc. – this is a highly effective alternative to individual feedbacks.
In preparation for the group feedback, the participants will have completed the Ability Battery and received their individual reports and profiles. Study of his individual report enables the participant to get the maximum benefit from the group feedback.
Before the Program begins, the Highlands technical staff produces reports showing how each of the individuals has scored on the nineteen worksamples. These reports are given to the Highlands Affiliate. The Affiliate also receives a Team Profile and a Frequency Distribution Report. The Team Profile relates the worksample scores to functions such as Teaching, Motivating, Communicating, Diagnostic Problem Solving, etc. The individuals in the group are divided for each worksample into Strong Scorers, Medium-range Scorers and Low-Match Scorers.
The Frequency Distribution Report shows the distribution of individual scores in three separate components — Personal Style (Generalist/Specialist; Extrovert/Introvert; Time Frame); Driving Abilities (Classification; Concept Organization; Idea Productivity; Spatial Relations Theory; and Spatial Relations Visualization); and Specialized Abilities (Design Memory; Observation; Visual Speed, etc.).
Armed with these reports, the Affiliate is able to conduct a group workshop or feedback, explaining the results and meaning of the Battery to the individuals in the group. In corporate groups, the Affiliate explains how the results can influence the conduct of the group and their ability to work together for common goals.
Instruction in group feedback is now an integral and required part of the Highlands Affiliates Training Program.
